The happo npm package: the CLI and its Storybook, Cypress and Playwright integrations.

6.10.7

  • Fix message resolving as null for non-default-branch GitHub Actions builds by falling through to git log when pull_request.title is null [by @lencioni in #481]
  • Add head_commit.message as a message source for push events on GitHub Actions before falling back to git log for better reliability in shallow-clone environments [by @lencioni in #481]

  • Update GitHubEvent type to accurately reflect that title can be null per the GitHub API [by @lencioni in #481]

6.10.5

  • Fix GitHub Actions push events to default branch incorrectly creating comparisons instead of reports [by @lencioni in #479]
  • Refactor Storybook package.json lookup to use empathic/walk for more reliable parent directory traversal [by @lencioni in #478]

6.10.4

  • Support pnpm catalog: and workspace:* specifiers in Storybook version detection

6.10.3

  • Skip non-fetchable URL schemes (about:, blob:, javascript:, file:, chrome:, chrome-extension:, moz-extension:) in asset packager to prevent failed fetch errors [by @trotzig in #476]

6.10.2

  • Fix using --skip and --only together with chunking [by @trotzig in #470]

6.10.0

New features

This version adds support for a --skip CLI argument (can be used with all integrations) and a --only CLI argument (Storybook only). These flags can be used to reduce the snapshots usage by running through a limited set of Happo examples. These arguments are defined as JSON arrays, with items following one of these structures:

{ "component": "Card" }
{ "component": "Card", "variant": "bordered" }
{ "storyFile": "./src/stories/Card.stories.js" }

The last format (using storyFile) is only supported for Storybook runs.

All changes

  • Add --only CLI flag for Storybook integration to render only stories matching a given list, complementing the existing --skip functionality [by @trotzig in #463]
  • Support storyFile items in --skip for Storybook integration, allowing entire story files to be skipped by path [by @trotzig in #460]
  • Adjust auto-chunking to account for skipped stories, ensuring chunk count scales proportionally when --skip is used [by @trotzig in #462]
  • Add release-with-ease dev dependency and release script for automated version management [by @trotzig in #465]

6.9.0

New features

  • A new experimental autoApplyPseudoStateAttributes: true|false option has been added to Playwright and Cypress integrations. If you enable it, Happo will automatically collect and represent :focus, :focus-visible, :active, and :hover states in the screenshots. This new option must be paired with the target config applyPseudoClasses: true.

6.8.0

What's Changed

Happo no longer injects CSS to disable pointer events by default. In most cases this is the right behavior, and the allowPointerEvents setting is unlikely to be needed going forward.

If you notice unexpected diffs caused by hover effects after updating, you can set allowPointerEvents: false in your target config to restore the previous behavior.

As a side effect, Storybook interaction tests that were previously silently skipped due to pointer-events: none errors may now start appearing in your Happo reports.
